We’re so proud of her mastery of the English language and willingness to pass on her knowledge. New ESL Curriculum Brings Even Brighter Futures to Students in Nicaragua!

Thanks to funds raised from our 2nd Annual Wave-A-Thon, our students in Nicaragua have begun learning from the new ESL curriculum from Oxford University. This raises the quality of instruction for the kids, providing a better vehicle to mastery of the English language, and more opportunities for their futures!

We recently introduced Juliana, a 5th grader from San Diego who graciously chose to support Unity 4 Orphans for a school project by making stuffed animal “companions” for the children at the orphanages we serve. A few weeks ago, Juliana joined us on a service trip to Mexico to deliver her handmade creations, and brought joy to kids who need it most.

We’re pleased to introduce Dennyse Urias, one of two new teachers at the orphanages in Tijuana that Unity 4 Orphans supports. She holds a degree in pedagogy, which is the theory and practice of learning, and focuses on the influence of and by the social, political, and psychological development of learners. She has always enjoyed teaching others, and we’re thankful to have her as a part of the U4O team, bringing her unique talents to kids who need it most!
