Passion Paired with Philanthropy

Entrepreneurial teen inspires with creative fundraising initiative during this Season of Giving!

Meet Ben

We’re proud to introduce you to an exceptional kid from NorCal, Ben Legge, who is 17 years old and in the 11th grade. Ben has worked hard to become skilled at woodworking and as you can see, is extremely talented!

Alongside this passion, he is also passionate about helping the children in the orphanages that U4O serves. Over the years, Ben has visited orphanages in Tijuana, and the experiences have shaped his worldview to realize the many things he took for granted.

Seeing children across the border who—due simply to where they were born—have far less in the way of basic food, shelter, and education, has impacted Ben in a profound way.

Making One-of-a-Kind Handcrafted Charcuterie & Cutting Boards

Looking to put his talent to good use, Ben came up with the idea to make one-of-a-kind handcrafted charcuterie and cutting boards. Each board is made with love and with the intention of bringing joy to the user, as well as providing a constant reminder of the importance of serving those less fortunate. What a terrific way to help you remember the blessings that each of us so freely enjoys, but often takes for granted!

All of our volunteers and supporters provide constant inspiration, but during this season we’re especially thrilled to see the creativity of kids giving back in unique ways that honor their God-given talents.

Thanks to all who participated, Ben was able to help seven children receive sponsorship for a year, and just as many donors will soon have a beautiful, custom-made cutting board arriving on their doorstep!
