The Holiday Season is upon us once again; can you believe it? Unity 4 Orphans is gearing up for one of the most important fundraising opportunities of the year: Giving Tuesday 2021.

GIVE FOR GIVING TUESDAY
This year for Giving Tuesday, we have set some important goals to meet our operating budget in order to benefit the children we serve. But first, we’d like to reflect back on what our generous supporters have helped us achieve in 2021. After getting our monthly service trips to Tijuana, Mexico back on the calendar in February, we happily joined the kids in their excitement to spend quality time together, and right away were reminded of this vital aspect to our mission.
The children and families who are supported by our educational program in Miramar, Nicaragua have also felt the increase in support, especially through reinstated in-person ESL classes! In both Mexico and Nicaragua, the kids are experiencing healing through counseling, and we readily see the incredible impact this support has on their wellbeing.

Many of us are now aware of Giving Tuesday and find it a natural progression to share the generosity we have received through Thanksgiving feasts and holiday shopping on Black Friday and Cyber Monday. Many, however, also feel overwhelmed with the staggering poverty in the world and feel powerless to choose a cause worth supporting, or doubt their small gift has the power to make a difference.
Those living in poverty worldwide experience the holidays as they would any other day: full of insecurity over food, shelter, and other basic human needs. They often don’t know when their next meal will be or if they’ll have shelter to get them through the season. It’s our mission to make sure the children in our programs in Mexico and Nicaragua feel seen and know they have the right to hope for a better tomorrow and a brighter future!

On this historic day of giving, please consider partnering with us to support these precious kids. Our focus for the end of the year is to continue providing for the children’s physical, educational, and emotional needs, with some BIG GOALS in mind for 2022!
In the coming year, we aim to significantly increase our program budget in Nicaragua to provide quality instruction, create internship opportunities for advanced students, and set up emergency assistance funds for families in need. For the children we support in the Tijuana orphanages, we will bring in more counselors and tutors, and for our operational team, we will add key staff members to our organization in San Diego.
We’re also thrilled to have monthly service trips up and running again and have already had a dozen groups, including 156 individuals, travel across the border to play with the kids and show them they are loved! That includes partnering with families, groups of friends, church attendees, and co-workers for unique experiences to serve together and engage with one another for some epic team bonding and lots of FUN playing games and giving the gift of time.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for showing up in so many ways so far this year. You have rallied around us to set our goals into motion after a historically difficult season, and our optimistic outlook for 2022 is thanks to so many people in our amazing community.
