Joe Brandi thanks sponsors at Unity 4 Orphans 2022 Wave-A-Thon in San Diego

Wave-A-Thon Highlights: Dedicated Supporters!

Unity 4 Orphans is so thankful for the support that led to a successful fundraiser at our 2nd Annual Wave-A-Thon! The students in our ESL program in Nicaragua are now learning valuable life skills through education and new curriculum in the English language, which will open doors for them in their future.

Yanelis Lopez was first introduced to Unity 4 Orphans when her aunt, who knew she wanted to study English, heard about Unity 4 Orphans’ ESL program

ESL Program Graduate Gives Back by Teaching Others!

A recent graduate of Unity 4 Orphan’ ESL program in Nicaragua is now an intern assisting other students in becoming bilingual, an excellent path to breaking the cycle of poverty. We’re so proud of her mastery of the English language and willingness to pass on her knowledge. We know she has great potential as an English teacher someday, and will help others reach brighter futures along the way!

Juliana knitted stuffed animals for the orphans

Thank you for the stuffed animals. God bless you!

We recently introduced Juliana, a 5th grader from San Diego who graciously chose to support Unity 4 Orphans for a school project by making stuffed animal “companions” for the children at the orphanages we serve. A few weeks ago, Juliana joined us on a service trip to Mexico to deliver her handmade creations, and brought joy to kids who need it most.

Two New Teachers Hired in Mexico!

We’re pleased to introduce Dennyse Urias, one of two new teachers at the orphanages in Tijuana that Unity 4 Orphans supports. She holds a degree in pedagogy, which is the theory and practice of learning, and focuses on the influence of and by the social, political, and psychological development of learners. She has always enjoyed teaching others, and we’re thankful to have her as a part of the U4O team, bringing her unique talents to kids who need it most!

Help U4O Make Giving Tuesday the Best One Yet!

Children living in poverty worldwide experience the holidays as they would any other day: full of insecurity over food, shelter, and other basic human needs. This holiday season, Unity 4 Orphans’ Giving Tuesday mission is to make sure underprivileged orphans and children continue to feel seen and supported for a better tomorrow and a brighter future!

Window Screens Matter!

Providing for simple inadequacies that affect children’s lifestyle enables them to do their best in school and more importantly, lets them know that they are valuable and loved.

One Child Living in Poverty

Many of us may not be able to relate to this level of poverty, but we can all relate to how stressors in our environment play a role in our relationships and our ability to make progress. This is the story of one child living in poverty.

Volunteer Appreciation dinner 2021 at Solterra

Celebrating Our Rockstar Volunteers!

Over a sunny weekend in June we gathered to celebrate our amazing Unity4Orphans team members and volunteers! The outdoor patio at Solterra Winery & Kitchen in Leucadia was a perfect venue, and we enjoyed delicious food and delightful company!

College Conversations in Nicaragua

Unity 4 Orphans staff hosted a meeting for ESL program students in Nicaragua to share their experiences in—and expectations of—university life. Current university students were enthusiastic to guide their younger counterparts and shared admirable goals, like helping their families and communities once they graduate. Their conversations demonstrate our commitment to breaking the cycle of poverty by supporting education and opening career opportunities.

Cuando Regresan?

It’s been a full year since our last service trip to visit the orphanages in Tijuana. As much as it’s been hard for us, during our first trip of 2021 we came to see just how hard it has been on the 33 kids at our partner orphanage in Tijuana.
