Unity 4 Orphans’ Mexico team embodies our heart for children at orphanages and community centers throughout Tijuana, giving hope to struggling families and showing God’s love.
We partner with community centers and orphanages where our Mexico staff regularly see lives being transformed through U4O’s holistic program set. The orphaned and vulnerable children we serve carry the scars of abandonment and abuse, and together we are healing their hearts through consistent weekday and Saturday programming.
U4O’s Mexico Team is Dedicated to Orphaned and Vulnerable Children
This year has been one of tremendous growth in our programs in Tijuana, Mexico, in the support we provide to orphanages and community centers throughout the city. The team continues to learn more about the best ways to help children and families. Building relationships is foundational to trust, which facilitates an environment of transformation.
We’re learning an interesting thing, each location is at the heart of different staff members. They’re developing relationships with the children and it’s going really well. It’s amazing because each person is focused on one place.
–Marco, Mexico Programs Director
At one of the orphanages in Tijuana, 30 children are learning ESL and receiving tutoring. They’re improving in school, and the team is encouraged to hear that their work is being rewarded. They also provide a music program for the kids and are preparing for several orphanages to put on a program where they each perform a song, with over 50 children involved.
Activities like this and the soccer tournament in Tijuana this summer help kids discover and explore their God-given talents. Instilling self-worth is a golden thread that weaves through everything the Mexico team does, and it’s transforming lives for countless orphaned and vulnerable children.
Counseling, Education, Nutrition, and Play Provide Solid Holistic Support
Some of the children in the orphanages have parents who are unable to take care of them, like 10-year-old Diego, whose parents are both in jail. The staff spend a lot of time with him, showing him a different lifestyle. If it weren’t for the connections between trusted adults and vulnerable children, kids like Diego wouldn’t learn there’s hope for a better life within reach.
What we have is great but what God has is better and He is providing everything we need. Bringing the Lord to these places has been amazing. The children are learning to read the Bible and love the Lord, and we tell them there’s room for everyone at God’s table.

U4O is Positioned to Bring Transformation to More Mexican Children in 2025
Many of our partner community centers and orphanages are tied to churches, providing support even beyond our robust program set. The Mexico team is excited to show children and their families Christ’s love and is encouraged by their hunger to meet and know God. Since U4O counselor Yoly began working with staff at one location, they have requested more time with her.
Through the ups and downs of the past year in our organization, we have seen God’s faithfulness in so many ways, especially in the young hearts and minds of the children in Mexico. As Marco pointed out, God loves the children even more than we do, and He takes care of His children. This is the faith that drives our organization.
God loves the children we serve at the orphanages and community centers; He knows the number of hairs on their heads. We’re praying that He moves in a mighty way in Tijuana with the children Marco serves and continues to heal the hearts of the employees and volunteers at the orphanages so they can promote healing to the kids.
–Caitlin Snyder, Executive Director
