Unity 4 Orphans’ dedicated partner network is made up of volunteers, counselors, educators, and pastors who support orphaned and vulnerable children on a weekly basis.
Our gospel-centered, holistic approach to serving children provides relational consistency, builds self-esteem, and equips them with tools for brighter futures. Paired with strategic partnerships with individuals embedded in their communities, this model creates lasting transformation!
Sharing God’s Love Gives Hope to Orphaned and Vulnerable Children
When children who have experienced abandonment, abuse, orphanhood, and poverty learn that they are loved and valued by God, something shifts. Along with the nurturing and relational consistency of caring adults, their hearts begin to heal, and hope can take root.
We trust God, and even if we can impact just one child, that is enough.
–Becky, El Salvador Program Director
Through Saturday and mid-week programs like AWANA and age-appropriate discipleship, children supported by U4O’s dedicated partner network are developing relationships with God. This instills a love and sense of value that many of them have never experienced.
Tutoring and ESL Classes Make Education Accessible to Underprivileged Children
In multiple locations throughout Mexico and Central America, orphaned and vulnerable children receive weekly tutoring, English as a second language classes, and mentorship to envision brighter futures. Through Education 4 Change, our in-country partners are changing the lives of children who lack access to resources we often take for granted.
This is not only about learning English. It’s about their confidence in themselves and any career they decide to pursue. We’re always working on self-esteem with all of our students.
–Lai, ESL Teacher and Program Director
This spring, four students graduated from our flagship ESL program, fluent in English. Two have returned as interns to help younger students learn, providing work experience for them and encouragement to the children they teach. This ripple effect empowers kids to believe in themselves and reach their full potential.
Feeding Programs Provide Nutrition to Children Living in Poverty
Many of the children we serve in Mexico and Central America have a lack of access to basic nutrition, and some are left to forage for food on the streets or in dumps. Through Nutrition 4 Change, our in-country network of partners and volunteers provides vital nourishment to kids who live with daily food insecurity.
These children are so malnourished, they lack the ability and energy to think clearly. We want to ensure that they have at least one plate of food every day to help them grow. Without proper nutrition, they’re unable to learn and keep up in school.
–Keysi, Program Director for Jesus is the Way
Feeding centers in multiple locations, as well as established Saturday programs, give children a place to be fed, both physically and spiritually. The goal of our team is to foster dignity and hope in the hearts and minds of kids who are experiencing poverty and hunger. When their bellies are full, they’re able to learn and grow up healthy and strong.
Children Living in Dangerous Communities Need Safe Spaces to Play
Our partners across the border in Tijuana are comprised of a robust team of people who are passionate about helping children heal from trauma and allowing them to just be kids. Through weekly programs, they learn to play games, musical instruments, do crafts, and even participate in an annual soccer tournament.
You only need a small amount of love to show God’s love to others.
–Marco, Mexico Programs Director
U4O’s belief in the importance of play is a foundational part of how we support kids and help them grow. Through Play 4 Change, they develop self-confidence and sportsmanship. Our incredible partners use every opportunity to tell children about God’s love for them and show God’s love through action.
We invite you to invest and be part of lasting transformation for more than 1,400 children throughout four countries and multiple sites. Together, we can make an impact and change lives in Jesus’ name!
