5 Easy Ways to Help Vulnerable Children this Giving Season

As we approach Giving Season, Unity 4 Orphans offers many easy ways for individuals, families, friends, and coworkers to help orphaned and vulnerable children.

It’s been an exciting year for our organization with the expansion of our holistic programs into more countries than ever. We’re excited to see what we can do together in the last quarter of 2023. Everything we do is made possible by our incredible community and it’s the perfect time to decide how you can make a difference for kids who need it most.

1. Follow and Subscribe to Unity 4 Orphans’ Social Media Channels

There are many ways to keep up-to-date with uplifting stories of vulnerable children’s lives being transformed through our holistic programs. Whatever your favorite way to stay connected, follow U4O to receive regular inspiration and stay informed.

2. Share What U4O is Doing to Help Children on Your Social Media Platforms

One of the easiest ways to gather support for the kids we serve throughout Latin America is simply to share our posts on your social media pages. Many people are looking for ways to give back during the holiday season, whether it’s families serving together or companies looking for a worthy cause to make end-of-year taxable contributions. Help us spread the word by reposting content shared on social media.

One of the easiest (and free!) ways to help support U4O and our mission is to engage with and share our posts on social media. By sharing our content with your friends and family, you’re directly helping to grow our community and expand our reach to more people who want to support us. You may be surprised how a quick share can connect and unite more people to help the kids!

3. Tell Friends and Family Why You Support Unity 4 Orphans

People enjoy the feeling of making a difference but often don’t know where to start or how to identify a trustworthy cause. Studies show that generosity stimulates dopamine, and guiding your family, friends, and followers to a nonprofit organization that you believe in is a powerful tool to help kids who need it most.

I love the personalized effort U4O puts in . . . I can actually see who I’m helping and that means a lot. I feel honored to be part of it.

4. Create Your Own Fundraiser

Our awesome supporters are always coming up with new and creative ways to raise money for the children we serve. Following in their footsteps or hosting one of your own is a great way to give back and spread the word this giving season. These can range from inviting friends into your home for a meal or game night and sharing U4O’s mission, establishing a fundraiser for a set time period, or holding a unique drive to bless children at the orphanages.

A few ideas to inspire your own fundraiser:

Business Owners: Gym Owner’s Fitness Fundraiser

Coworkers: Kaiser Physicians Spearhead Learning Materials Drive

Private Dinner for Friends: Supporters Host An Evening for the Children

Families with Children: 3rd Graders Hold 3rd Annual Lemonade Stand

5. Set Up a Matching Gift

Matching gifts are a quick and simple way to double your impact. U4O makes it easy to set up one of two ways. Many companies already have matching gift benefits already built in that employees can take advantage of. Contact your HR department and request information or use our handy tool to see if your company offers a matching gift program.

During onboarding, my company made it really simple to set up a matching gift to Unity 4 Orphans. Companies receive their own tax write-off, so it’s beneficial to them as well. It’s a great way to support this nonprofit and is a feature that’s underutilized by many employees.

Families and groups of friends or neighbors can also pledge a matching gift independently. It can be a fun way to teach children the importance of giving to those less fortunate. Set an amount to match up to and decide where and how it’s most convenient to spread the word. Reach out to us for more information and help getting started!
