Gathering Friends for an Evening of Fundraising and Fellowship

On a perfect August evening in La Jolla, California, Tom and Kathrine Cassidy hosted a fundraiser on behalf of the children we serve in Latin America.

Some 30 guests attended, and another five households made a donation even though they were unable to be there. The invitation drew in friends of the Cassidys for “An Evening for the Children,” a cause close to the hosts’ hearts. Inviting guests to enjoy “good friends, good food, and a good cause,” they shared Unity 4 Orphans’ mission to help orphaned and vulnerable children through education and holistic care.

“I love how hands-on U4O is. They provide a way to get involved with my kids, and it’s important for them to see what life is like for children at the orphanages.”

Philanthropy Starts at Home with Personal Relationships

Thanks to Tom and Kathrine’s generosity in opening up their home and inviting friends to participate, $21,200 will be poured into programs that bring education, health, and hope to children living in poverty. We’re grateful for their support and hope others in our community are inspired to host their own individual fundraising event. For more information, please reach out to our team and we will help you get started!

“I learned the importance of helping others from my mom. God calls us to take care of widows and orphans, and at the dinner I was inspired watching God move on behalf of orphaned children.”
