Unity 4 Orphans’ new initiative in Punta Mita, Mexico benefits children affected by poverty by providing a feeding program and ESL instruction while also teaching them about Jesus.
Joe Brandi made a final stop on his recent travels to South America to a village near Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. In Punta Mita the main income source comes from tourism, which makes it difficult for citizens to provide food and basic necessities for their families during the rest of the year.
Nourishing Food Helps Poor Children Succeed in Life
Some of our longtime supporters may recall the feeding program we had in Nicaragua, and this part of our mission, Nutrition for Change, is based on the knowledge that when children aren’t receiving enough to eat, it impairs their learning and development. Our holistic approach to caring for each child recognizes this need, and thanks to a generous donor, we are able to launch this program in a new area of Mexico.
We’re all about Jesus and education, but if they’re hungry, they can’t learn.

Collaboration with Local Partners Benefits Children
As we look forward to seeing this partnership in action and continue to explore others, in this area as well as San Diego, Tijuana, Ecuador, and beyond, our focus remains on helping the children in our programs to grow up healthy and strong. Caring for their physical and spiritual–as well as educational and emotional–needs remains at the core of our values as a nonprofit.
