Surf 4 A Cause!
U4O is hosting its 2nd annual Wave-A-Thon on August 28th to gain funding for education programs in Nicaragua!
“This is such a unique way to raise funds and I’m excited to be involved again!” said surfer Brian Wheeler.
In 2020, we raised $20,000 through wave sponsors and donations; this year’s goal is to raise $30,000 for formal curriculum to launch our program to the next level!
“There’s nothing more exciting and rewarding than getting to do something I love, like surfing, while having the opportunity to give back in a small way by fundraising for the kids,” said surfer Rosie Furr.
HOW IT WORKS
- If you’re a surfer, you can gather pledges from family and friends to raise funds per wave you surf. Contact us at [email protected] to get started!
- Not a surfer? Pledge to support Joe Brandi! The goal is to surf 20-30 waves. This means if you pledge just $10 per wave you could generate up to $300 towards our goal! Gather your family and friends to pledge and donations will add up quickly! Click the button below to pledge now!
- And if you aren’t local to San Diego, you can still participate by gathering pledges from wherever you are.

Find us on Pacific Beach at Law Street on Saturday, August 28. Come at 3pm for our event kick off and stick around to watch our awesome surfers catching waves!
