A Heart for the Fatherless: U4O’s Newest Board Member

Paul Polakowski III was first introduced to Unity 4 Orphans through Joe Brandi at church in 2017. He became involved as a donor three years later in 2020, and in 2021 he began advising U4O on fundraising strategy and supporting events.

At a young age, Paul lost his father, and this loss gave him compassion for children who are being raised without one or both parents. His heart drew him to U4O’s mission, as well as his faith, specifically the mission laid out by God in Psalm 68:5 and 146:9.

“Father of the fatherless and protector of widows is God in his holy habitation.”

– Psalm 68:5 (ESV)

As a member of U4O’s Board of Directors, Paul assists wherever the organization has a need, and is a particularly important advisor in the areas of finance, fundraising, and general strategy. He shares his knowledge of building for-profit companies, as well as a successful nonprofit organization serving combat veterans.

“I enjoy serving alongside other U4O teammates and witnessing how the organization is changing lives.”

– Paul Polakowski

Paul has lived in San Diego for fifteen years, and is a native New Yorker (NYC and Long Island). He has dedicated his life to serving others, and when he isn’t doing that, he is most likely enjoying outdoor activities such as biking, climbing, surfing, etc. in God’s creation. He shares that he is honored to serve on the board of directors and we’re blessed to have him as part of the team!
