Mexico Trip Leader
Why did you originally get involved with U4O?
At first, I went on a trip for the tacos but stayed for the kids! One of my friends from college invited me to U4O when I first moved to San Diego so there truly is power in referrals. Decided to get involved because when growing up in Chicago, I would frequent mission trips with my church to orphanages around the world. Now that there are countless orphanages in my backyard, how could I not go?
How long have you been involved with U4O?
My first trip was in August 2015 and have been on almost every trip since then.
What motivates you to stay involved with U4O?
The laughter and joy in the children that is experienced on a trip is the thing that keeps me coming every time. U4O not only addresses the emotional needs of the children through relational consistency, but enacts programs that give them an opportunity to have a brighter future. I am motivated by the idea that we are giving the children a chance to have a joy-filled life by being the hands and feet of Jesus!
Tell us about yourself!
I love all things SHRED – whether it’s carving a wave, down a snowy mountain, or on smooth pavement! When I’m not with orphans or in the ocean, I am a Technical Recruiter at Proven Recruiting. Flying would be my ultimate superpower because I despise traffic and wanderlust is very real to me.
