Luisa Martinez

Past Champion

I’ve worked with Children for the past twenty-five years of my life, I’ve worked in different learning environments, in orphanages, schools, churches, and communities.

I have a Bachelors in Pedagogy from Universidad Panamericana, Guadalajara Campus.

My first years as an educator, I worked as an elementary school teacher, teaching first and second grade. I worked in a bilingual elementary school, teaching the english part of the school, using all of the Abeka curriculum, I taught Language, Phonics, Math, Science and Reading.

I helped design Sunday School Curriculum for La Fuente Church and also was part of their staff for a couple of years.

I became a full time missionary in YWAM in 2008, and pioneered a ministry called “Circulo Andante” where we go to communities and help children learn reading and math in a fun and loving environment. I design all of the activities and curriculum.

We started training people in a church who are going to have “circulo” after their saturday morning breakfast in three different communities in Tijuana. We are in the process of equipping their team with all the materials and training needed for them to do it in a near future independently.

At the moment I am studying to become a community development facilitator.
